I am a writer and my friends tell me I need a blog. I’ve got a lot of works, pieces of works, completed works, works-in-progress, and tons of poetry.
Hence, the ‘need’ for a blog…or so my writing friends tell me.
I’m completing the manuscript for “A Seasoning of Lust” a collection of shorts stories, flashers (200 word stories) and more poetry. Lots of poetry.
hopefully that will be done by this summer…..and published somewhere…or maybe on lulu.com…don’ know yet.
This entry sounds so stiff, but I’ll improve. I’m really not that stiff. Bellydancers are supposed to be flexible….well, that’s questionable. All my bellydancer friends are getting bad knees! Seems the first thing that goes…I have a bad one, too!
We are aging!
And about that, well, one thing I have found is that women do not have to stay in one category. We usually are multi-talented and as we age, we branch out…not only around the middle, but into dark and secret desires…those things we never spoke about before…or at least openly.
D/s…domination and submission, is one of those interests. I will be writing a lot on this new issue, and will also be inviting other writers to write on this topic. Figure more heads than one is healthy. One head usually ends up on a pike.
And about that name: “Lady Nyo”. She is a character from a book I am writing, “The Kimono” . She is a 16th century Japanese woman, in her late twenties, married and a constant poetry writer..as I am. But she writes better poetry…or forces me to write more carefully. I have written a four part cycle of her poetry that will be featured here. I hide behind her personality. She allows me to express things in writing that perhaps I could not without her.
Lady Nyo (and Nyo is a Japanese word I forget the meaning right now…but I like the NO and the ‘y’….yes in the middle!…but mostly the NO!) allows me her fans to hide behind and her painted face to present to the world. Sometimes a woman needs masks or fans. She presents this very well with me. She is a vehicle for some honesty when trust has been disrupted.
I welcome comments, on all the above and especially on my writing.
Lady Nyo (aka Jane and a few other names…)
