The full moon above
floats on blackened velvet sea-
poet’s perfection!
But who does not yearn for a
crescent in lavender sky?

My pleasure, Jane! As informal as it is, it was tanka enough for me! Happy New year!

me. too. Frank. I used to be a Nazi on tanka form, but now? not so much. There are so many rules with tanka but if it’s nice free verse, it’s nice free verse. LOL! Happy New Year!

Thank you, Nick. I can’t do what you can do with a camera, and that was just a phone camera but it worked for the poem. Happy New Year, my dearest friend! Love and Lots of Hugs for the New Year. xoxox
